A little late informing you all but this month's freebie in each and every single order is. . . . Goat's Milk + Buttermilk Foundation Designed to be used with your favorite serum or facial oil (nudge: I make a pretty darn good one!) Truly natural! Not a trace of harsh chemicals or preservatives! Flawless coverage with the bonus of natural sun protection. FREE generous sample included with all orders! Loving up the silky feel of my hair today, I now feel confident to release my new Goat's Milk w/ Apple Cider Vinegar and Aloe Vera shampoo!
This shampoo has literally been a year in the making - I've tried different natural methods (No-Poo, Bar Soap, Liquid Soap, etc.) with disappointing results each time. None of them worked for me, or if they did work, the results didn't last long. But I am thrilled to say that this shampoo is great! I've combined ingredients I LOVE: Goat's Milk, organic Aloe Vera juice, and Apple Cider Vinegar. The addition of Goat's Milk just because it's awesome, Aloe Vera for it's moisturizing benefits, and ACV as it does wonders sealing up the hair shaft leaving it silky and shiny. Zero Parabens Zero Formaldehydes Zero Sulfates Zero Alcohol Zero Phthalates Gluten-Free This shampoo is gentle enough for daily use, although I try to stretch my hair a day in between washes simply because hair is healthier that way. Every other week or so I will use a different shampoo (as natural as can be of course!) in case there has been any light build-up. Shampoo and Conditioner sets now available in my Etsy shop! ** a FREE sample included in all orders placed this month! ** The owners of Capriola's Soap Co. have moved to the big city (well, the little-big city) of Fargo, North Dakota!
We moved to learn American Sign Language and be more involved as volunteers with the Deaf community. Our hobby business is still going and Olivia is crafting up a storm (even in our little apartment kitchen! ;) Stay tuned for NEW products! Goat's Milk Mineral Make-Up Facial Serums Shampoo + Conditioner SETS Olivia is perfecting the above creations and they will be available shortly. As always, each product is made in small batches, with loving hands, and only naturally preserved! FREE SAMPLES will be included with future orders! Two days late! Writer's block. . . . . Featured Product Mango Butter + Hemp Intensive Moisture Cream Every one of my intensive moisturizing creams contain Organic Aloe Vera as the main liquid -- no water! Aloe Vera is known to soothe irritated skin and promote healing. It is nutrient-rich and believed to fight aging, treat acne, scars, and sunburns, not to mention moisturize dry skin! Goat's Milk comes next! Last week's post tells you all the wonderful reasons to include Goat's Milk in your skin and beauty routine!
Up next comes rich and fragrant Coconut Oil. Famous the world over for moisturizing dry skin and hair. Coconut oil is very rich in saturated fats, helping the skin retain moisture. Also rich in Vitamin E and Protein! Grape Seed oil is the next main ingredient. I infuse my Grape Seed oil with real Tahitian Vanilla Beans - you will see tiny flecks of Vanilla Bean here or there in your cream. I infuse my oil with Vanilla simply for the lovely natural aroma it lends. Grape Seed oil is rich in omega-6 essential fatty acids and Omega-9 fatty acids, Vitamin E, and antioxidants. Thought to be good for acne-prone skin. Mango Butter is a very effective emollient said to prevent drying of the skin which in turn fights the formation of wrinkles. It may also help restore elasticity to aging or damaged skin. Pure HONEY is naturally anti-inflammatory and beneficial in the treatment and healing of wounds and burns - bacteria simply refuses to grow in it! It also helps speed up new skin cell growth. No cream or lotion is complete without an emulsifier - it is a MUST! Otherwise you are dealing with an unpleasant mess of separating oils and liquid - not the after-bath experience I'd like to have with my moisturizer! ;) I choose a vegetable-based emulsifier which unfortunately cannot be made or labeled as "natural". The up-side to this fact though is that unlike commercial products where this ingredient is one of the main ingredients, I use only the smallest amount necessary to emulsify the oils and liquids - it is NOT used as cheap filler! Arrowroot Powder lends a silky, powdery feel to this cream as well as naturally thickening it up a bit more. Next comes my special blend of natural preservatives! Grapefruit Seed Extract, Vitamin E, Potassium Sorbate (food-grade), and Citric Acid. All of these ingredients are SAFE for everyone! You can expect a shelf-life of 3 months and greater - but I easily use my cream up before that time - it's just wonderful stuff! I hope this post has been helpful and informative! Here starts my attempts at writing a blog post every week. ;) Check back Mondays for a new post! ~ Every Monday, for the next three months, I will be featuring at least one of my products and the reasons why the ingredients are so special! Making the switch to skin care products that contain Goat's Milk can make a world of difference in the health of your skin. Particularly if you have what you may think of as "problem skin". Goat's Milk is known widely to moisturize, soothe, and help relieve conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, dry, itchy skin. If your skin is already happy and healthy, then it helps keep it that way for life! Vitamins Goat's Milk contains many vitamins, but it is particularly high in Vitamin A, which is necessary to repair damaged skin tissue and maintain healthy skin. There have been several various medical studies showing that creams made with Vitamin A reduce wrinkles and lines, calm and control acne, and provide some psoriasis relief. You will often see commercial products advertising high contents of Vitamin A - well, Goat's Milk is naturally high in this wonderful vitamin so why not try something more natural for the same goodness?! :) Cream The cream and high fat that is present in Goat's Milk provide extra moisturizing to my skin care products. This is particularly necessary for cold winter months (as we are experiencing now!) In addition to rich Goat's Milk used in abundance in Capriola's Soap Co. products, Olivia carefully selects quality cold-pressed natural oils and herbal extracts to delight your skin and hair! I am told that my shop is the only one that offers naturally preserved Goat's Milk lotions and creams - pretty special if I may say so myself!! :) Stay tuned for another blog post next week featuring the ingredients found in one of my best-selling creams Hemp Seed + Mango Butter! It's back! Enter FREESHIP25 at checkout to receive free domestic shipping on your order of $25 and greater ~ stock up for winter! :) Hmmm. I suppose I should try and "regulate" my blog entries to every other day or so, rather than multiple postings in one day.... it just so happened I had some spare time today -- and so, I created!! :) My hair needs help! Always! I cannot stand the cheaply made hair conditioners available at the drugstore and I honestly cannot afford to purchase extravagant, luxurious, organic conditioners from beauty salons. Soooo, I made my own! AND, I decided to make my very first "photo diary" of the creative process from beginning to end. I rather enjoyed it! Perhaps next time I will try a "video diary". I began with my choice of oil and premium hair conditioner flakes that I found online some time ago (they are since sold out, so I need to use what I have carefully!) Being that this is only my second batch of conditioner, I decided to keep it simple and use Organic Extra-Virgin Olive Oil. After melting the oil and conditioning flakes, I added very warm Goat's Milk (no product of mine is complete without real Goat's Milk!) I also decided to add some Antioxidant-Rich Green Tea. Blending - it didn't take long for the batch to thicken slightly. I just LOVE organic Aloe Vera Gel and use this wonderful stuff in every single one of my creations - from soap to lotions/creams and now hair conditioner! So, at this point, I added Aloe Vera and whipped that into the mixture. After everything was fully blended, I added a touch of coconut-derived preservative (Optiphen Plus) and my favorite blend of pure Essential Oils (heavy on the Sweet Almond so it smells like ripe cherries).
Lastly, the tricky part -- getting the conditioner into containers. I decided against recording that part of the process - it got a little messy ;) But here is the finished product! Tomorrow morning's shower is gonna be fun testing this out! LOVE thrift store shopping! Went to the local shop (Worn-A-Bit) here in Rugby, North Dakota and found a sweet set of eight ceramic mugs -- perfect for my latest batch of Shaving Soap cooking up in the crockpot at this very moment! This batch I made with Goat's Milk, Olive, Castor, Coconut, and Neem oils ~ it will be scented with my special 1907 blend of pure Essential Oils (earthy and spicy combo). Eight complete shaving kits will be made available online in my Etsy shop as well as at the "Funky Junk Depot Summer Boardwalk Sale" June 14th in Towner, North Dakota!
